Multi-Family Household Hazardous Waste
HHW does not belong in any of your garbage, recycling, or compost carts. AVI hosts an annual, one-day Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event in the Spring for all Dublin residents.

Battery Recycling Program
AVI provides battery recycling containers for multi-family properties. Property managers can request a free battery container from AVI. AVI will empty this container quarterly, and property managers can also call AVI to schedule more frequent pickups if needed. All household batteries are accepted in the recycling program.
ACCEPTABLE batteries include:
- Alkaline batteries: These are common household batteries found in various sizes (AAA, AA, C, D, 9V) and are used in devices such as remote controls, toys, flashlights, and clocks.
- Lithium batteries: Lithium batteries come in various forms, including coin-cell batteries (used in watches and small electronic devices), lithium-ion rechargeable batteries (found in cameras, laptops, and smartphones), and lithium polymer batteries (used in smartphones, tablets, and other portable electronic devices).)
- NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries: Rechargeable NiMH batteries are used in devices like digital cameras, cordless phones, and handheld gaming devices.
Use clear packing, non-conductive electrical, or duct tape to secure battery terminals, ensuring the label remains visible. For lithium-ion batteries, tape the battery terminals and/or place them in individual plastic bags.
If you do not have a battery recycling container at your multi-family property, please reach out to your property manager to add this program to your complex. Please also inform your property manager if you notice the container is full.
